Jeanne Lancaster, Early Years Jeanne Lancaster, Early Years

Jeanne has been at Cottonwood for 19 years and this is her 28th year at WVSD.

From Mrs. Lancaster:  When people have asked me over the years, “Why don’t retire, you know you can?” I always responded by saying that I love my job at Cottonwood, and truly love the wonderful staff, and working with students their families. Cottonwood epitomizes “It Takes a Village” and I feel privileged to say I belong to this fabulous team!

Susan Braun, Early Years Susan Braun, Early Years

Susan Braun has been the PE teacher at Cottonwood for 27 years!

From Mrs. Braun:  It’s hard to believe 40 years of teaching is behind me.  That means I’ve taught thousands of students to jump rope! It has been a total delight to teach at Cottonwood as I have worked with amazing principals and staff.  It is definitely with mixed emotions that I hang up my whistle and leave the gym for a new chapter of my life. Thank you, West Valley District.  I have been blessed to be a part of this great community!

Sarah James, Early Years Sarah James, Early Years

Sarah James has been at CW all 27 years of its existence as the school counselor, a 2nd grade teacher and finally a 4th grade teacher.

From Mrs. James:  I was there when Cottonwood opened in the fall of 1993.  As the school psychologist/counselor, I was part of the team who got the building up and running.  I remember when school started we didn’t have grass on the playground, tables in our lunchroom, and some classrooms (and my office) didn’t have desks.  The community came together, and Cottonwood has been an absolutely amazing place to work for 27 years of my 37-year career.  While it will be somewhat difficult to walk away and begin the next chapter of my life, the connections I’ve made with staff, students, and families will always be a part of me.  Once a Cottonwood Coyote, always a Cottonwood Coyote!

Congratulations to all three of you.  You will truly, truly be missed!
